Boxing for fitness has all the fitness and toning benefits of traditional boxing training for those not wanting to get in a ring. Classes are led by Catherine Schnell a NCAS registered boxing coach with Australian Sports Commision and Boxing Australia. Aiki-Centre is also a registered and accredited Boxercise facility through the Australian Academy of Boxing.
Our scheduled classes are a mix of group, partnered and individual training in a one hour workout. We use focus pads, speed balls, floor to ceiling speed balls and punching bags. The workout includes a choice of skipping and other cardio work, push ups sit ups and more. Core stability exercises are also included to ensure our internals get strong and fit too.
Learn authentic boxing based techniques to improve fitness, co-ordination and mental focus in a self-paced, safe and enjoyable environment. The group classes enable you to workout within the group and also on your own and with partnered practice with the mits, with individual technical instruction during the session.
Bring your own gloves or purchase from a range of quality leather boxing gloves 12-16oz, bag gloves, speedball mitts and boxing wraps. If you do not have your own gloves and are not sure what to get, you can use some spare gloves we have available for a few classes before deciding what is best for your training needs.
